At DIBAQ Aquaculture, we strengthen our commitment every day to responsible and sustainable aquaculture aligned with the most demanding standards in the sector.
A significant step on this journey has been the renewal of our BAP (Best Aquaculture Practices) certification. This international recognition validates our high standards in quality, food safety, animal welfare, social responsibility, and environmental respect.
What is BAP certification?
The Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) certification is the most comprehensive and globally recognized aquaculture certification program. Developed by the Global Seafood Alliance (GSA), this system verifies that organizations involved in aquaculture follow best practices throughout the entire production chain, from farms and hatcheries to processing plants and feed manufacturing.
Unlike other certifications, BAP integrally covers environmental, social, food safety, and animal health and welfare aspects. This offers a solid guarantee to both clients and the final consumer regarding the responsibility of the production process.
Why is this certification so important?
Being BAP certified means that a company:
- Complies with rigorous scientific standards, evolving alongside the challenges of the global aquaculture sector.
- Is audited by an independent third party, ensuring impartiality, transparency, and traceability in the evaluation.
- Commits to environmental, social, and animal welfare responsibility, which are key elements for sustainable aquaculture.
- Expands its access to international markets that prioritize certified and sustainable products.
This seal is recognized by more than 150 retail and food service companies worldwide, reflecting global trust in products certified under this standard.
DIBAQ Aquaculture’s Role in Sustainable Production
At DIBAQ, our sustainability philosophy is not an abstract concept, but a daily practice reflected in every one of our production activities. Our philosophy is based on quality, innovation, and environmental respect—pillars that are part of our identity as a company.
Thanks to this commitment, we were the first company in Spain and the only one in continental Europe to obtain BAP certification for our aquaculture feed, a milestone that reinforces our trajectory as leaders in animal nutrition and welfare.
Guarantee and Traceability at Every Stage
From the selection of sustainable raw materials, through dynamic internal quality controls in all production phases, to total product traceability, DIBAQ ensures its aquaculture feed meets the highest market standards.
What does this mean for clients and partners?
The renewal of the BAP certification is not just a statement of our values, but a tangible tool for our clients and partners:
- Greater trust and transparency in the quality of our products.
- Assurance of responsible and safe processes.
- Reinforcement of the commitment to sustainable aquaculture that respects ecosystems.
- Competitive advantage and access to markets that demand rigorous certifications.
In a sector facing global challenges—such as population growth and pressure on natural resources—certifications like BAP and the responsible work of companies like DIBAQ Aquaculture help build a more efficient, safe, and environmentally friendly future.
At DIBAQ, we continue to work with passion, innovation, and commitment, aware that responsible aquaculture is a key piece in feeding the world ethically and sustainably.
