Carpa

Common carp is one of the main cultivated fishes in the world nowadays.

It is a scaly species. It is very resistant because of its capacity of tolerating adverse conditions and due to the fact that it is cultivated in ponds.

It is mainly omnivorous and its most significant feature is that it takes advantage of ELN in diets as a source of energy.

Dibaq uses new preparation technologies of raw materials to develop CARPIO line of products. Theses technologies guarantee the best digestion and contribute to a more efficient environmental behaviour of its products.

  •  Distribution: In Central Asia and in the East of Europe where it is spread in a natural way or because it has been put up there by men in countries of all over the world. There are many carps in ponds, lakes and middle and lower parts of rivers in the Iberian Peninsula. But there are not as many outside the peninsula.
  •  Feeding: It eats aquatic insects, crustaceans, annelids, mollusks, tree seeds, aquatic plants and algae.
  •  Fishing: Sport fishing
  •  Breeding: Ponds, small lakes and lagoons.
  •  Repro: Breading season starts in spring and it finishes at the beginning of summer. Females spawn in the substrate and males inseminate them externally. The time it takes them to hatch is linked to temperature. At 86ºF, eggs hatch in 3 days.
